Bener Meriah Regency Government Extends Emergency Disaster Response Period Again

BANDA ACEH - The Bener Meriah Regency Government, Aceh officially extended the period of response to the hydrometeorological disaster emergency for the next seven days, from December 24 to 30, 2025.

"This is the third extension after the second extension of the emergency response status which ends today," said the Head of the Data and Information Center of the Bener Meriah Hydro-Meteorological Disaster Management Post, Ilham Abdi, in Benar Meriah, Tuesday, December 23.

The extension of the emergency response period was determined based on the results of a quick study of the current conditions in the field and coordination with the elements of the Bener Meriah Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).

Ilham said the decision was taken to ensure that emergency handling efforts could continue to run optimally, coordinated, and responsive to potential disaster threats that are still ongoing.

The extension of the emergency response period is also the result of a quick study and coordination with the elements of Forkopimda, considering the condition of two sub-districts that are still difficult to access logistics by land.

"The two areas are in the Mesidah and Syiah Utama sub-districts and several villages (villages) are still difficult to access," he said.

During the extension of the emergency response period, he continued, the Bener Meriah Government continues to intensify emergency handling measures, including the protection of affected people, the fulfillment of basic needs, and cross-sectoral coordination to minimize the risk and impact of disasters.

In addition, he also appealed to the entire community to remain patient in facing this trial, the local government continues to make every effort in handling it.

"Please follow the instructions of the officers in the field, and immediately report if there is an emergency in your respective environment," said Ilham Abdi.
