Bekasi - Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara apologized to residents of Bekasi Regency today. This statement was made after he underwent an examination as a suspect after being entangled in a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) last week.

"I apologize to the people of Bekasi Regency for what has happened," Ade Kuswara told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, December 22.

Ade also conveyed greetings to Dedi Mulyadi as the Governor of West Java.

"Hopefully always healthy. That's all," he said as he was escorted to the prisoner's car.

As previously reported, the KPK named Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara together with his father, H. M Kumang who also served as the Head of Sukadami Village, South Cikarang District; and a private named Sarjan as suspects in the alleged bribery case. They were detained at the KPK State Detention House (Rutan) for the first 20 days until January 8, 2026.

Ade Kuswara and H.M Kunang as the recipients of bribes are suspected of violating Article 12 a or Article 11 and Article 12B of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1-1 of the Criminal Code and Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of the Tipikor Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) -1 of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, Sarjan as the party who gave the bribe was suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) of hurufa or b or Article 13 of the Corruption Law.

In this case, the KPK had sniffed out the involvement of the Head of the Bekasi Regency Prosecutor's Office (Kajari) Eddy Sumarman. His house in the Bekasi and Pondok Indah area was sealed.

"So, the sealing was carried out during the OTT, initially suspected of being a criminal act of corruption," said the acting (Plt) Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK in a press conference at the KPK Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Saturday morning, December 20.

Asep also explained that the team failed to bring Eddy together with the parties who were caught OTT in Bekasi Regency to the KPK Red and White building. However, he did not explain the cause.

Asep only mentioned that Eddy's involvement was brought in the title of the case or exposed together with the leadership. But, the final decision, the name was not included in the same case as Ade Kuswara et al.

"The involvement of these parties will certainly be discussed in the expose, but those who are determined to be investigated are those who have indeed met the sufficiency of the evidence," he explained.

Because of this condition, Asep said his subordinates had opened a seal at Eddy's house. "Because of the lack of evidence, then for his property that was sealed, of course we will open it. Immediately after it was determined not to rise or not to be designated as a suspect, because that is his right," said Asep, who also served as the Director of Investigation of the KPK.
