JAKARTA - A total of 384 families (KK) were affected by a landslide disaster in Leppangeng Village, Pitu Riase District, Sidenreng Rappang Regency (Sidrap), South Sulawesi, and at least 24 landslide points.
The Head of the BPBD Sidrap, Sudarmin, through his statement received in Makassar, Sunday, has conducted a direct inspection to the landslide disaster location accompanied by Dandim 1420/Sidrap Letkol (Inf) Andi Zulhakim Asdar and the Sidrap Police Chief AKBP Fantry Taherong.
"As a result of this incident, residents' road access was damaged and covered by landslide material. Approximately 384 families were affected. Thank God there were no casualties," he said.
Sudarmin explained that the landslide occurred due to moderate to heavy intensity rain that hit the area since Thursday, December 18, 2025, at around 18.00 WITA.
The incident triggered landslides at 24 points and closed the main road access for residents of Leppangeng Village.
The affected villages include Village II Leppangeng, Village III Walawala, Village IV Galung, and Village VI Tosemang. The closure of the connecting road between areas has disrupted community mobility.
As a first step, BPBD together with the TNI, Polri, and local government conducted field inspections, cross-sector coordination, and assessments to determine the next steps.
At the location, the BPBD TRC, TNI and Polri personnel, and residents collaborated to clean up the landslide material and repair the road access so that it could be immediately passed again by the community.
