Ahead of the Nataru Holiday, the Jakbar Police Tightened Security in the Old City Area

JAKARTA - Ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays, the West Jakarta Metro Police (Polrestro Jakbar) conducted a security check in the Old City, Tamansari, West Jakarta tourist area. The area is expected to be one of the favorite destinations for the public during the holiday season.

During the activity, the West Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Pol Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi, directly reviewed the Old City Security Post (Pospam) which was established as part of the security for Christmas and New Year celebrations.

"This post is one of the strategic points of security considering that the Old City area is a tourist location that is predicted to experience an increase in public visits during the Christmas and New Year holidays," said Twedi in Jakarta, Sunday.

He emphasized that the presence of police personnel in the field was not only focused on the aspect of security, but also on providing friendly and prompt services to the community.

"We want to make sure that everything goes well, in terms of security, the completeness of supporting facilities and infrastructure as well as the readiness of members when carrying out security," he said.

Twedi added that cross-agency coordination and the readiness of all personnel were important factors in maintaining a conducive public security and order situation during the holiday period.

Through the implementation of Operation Lilin Jaya 2025, continued Twedi, the West Jakarta Metro Police is trying to provide optimal security so that the 2025 Christmas celebration can take place safely, orderly, and full of devotion.

Nationally, the National Police Headquarters held the 2025 Lilin Operation to ensure security, smooth traffic flow, and public comfort during the Christmas and New Year holidays which took place from December 20, 2025 to January 2, 2026.

A total of 146,701 joint personnel were deployed in the security of Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026. In addition, the National Police also prepared 2,903 posts consisting of 1,807 security posts, 763 service posts, and 333 integrated posts to secure a total of 44,226 surveillance objects in various regions.
