SINGKAWANG - The Abdul Aziz Singkawang Regional General Hospital (RSUD), West Kalimantan, has expressed its readiness to provide heart ring (stent) installation and chemotherapy services after all supporting facilities and infrastructure were declared ready for operation.
The readiness was reviewed directly by the Deputy Mayor of Singkawang Muhammadin when he visited the Abdul Aziz Singkawang Hospital, Friday, December 19, to ensure the feasibility of medical equipment, service rooms, and medical service support systems.
"This review is carried out to ensure that all facilities and infrastructure for cardiac services, especially the installation of rings, as well as chemotherapy services are ready and can be immediately operated," said Muhammadin in Singkawang, quoted from Antara.
He appreciated the hard work of the management and all levels of the Abdul Aziz Singkawang Hospital which managed to realize this specialized health service.
According to him, the readiness of this service is an important leap in improving the quality of health services in the City of Singkawang.
"We are grateful because through the innovation and hard work of the Director of Abdul Aziz Hospital and his staff, this service can finally be realized. All preparations have been completed and are waiting for operations," he said.
Muhammadin said that until now, people in Singkawang who need heart ring installation must be referred to hospitals outside the area, even to overseas such as Kuching, Malaysia. This condition is considered to burden patients in terms of time, cost, and access to services.
"With the presence of the heart ring installation service at Abdul Aziz Hospital, people can now get quality heart services without having to go far outside the region or abroad," he said.
In addition to cardiac services, Muhammadin also highlighted the readiness of the chemotherapy room, which is considered very strategic in helping cancer patients in Singkawang and its surroundings. The presence of this service is expected to accelerate medical treatment while alleviating the burden on patients and families.
"For chemotherapy services, people no longer need to be referred to Pontianak because they can be served in Singkawang. This is certainly very helpful and is the people's great hope," he said.
The Singkawang City Government, continued Muhammadin, provided full support so that the service could immediately operate and be optimally utilized by the community.
"This is a service that the community really wants. We hope that the operation will run immediately so that the benefits can be felt immediately," he said.
With the readiness of the heart ring installation service and chemotherapy, the Abdul Aziz Singkawang Hospital is expected to further strengthen its role as a referral health service center that is qualified and affordable for the community.
