AGAM - The Agam Regency Government, West Sumatra, needs 13 bailey bridges to be installed in the area of damaged bridges or embankments to open access after natural disasters that hit the area at the end of November 2025.

"In total, there are 13 bailey bridges that need to be installed in Agam Regency after the flood disaster, landslides, and flash floods," said Agam Regent Benni Warlis in Lubuk Basung, Friday, December 19.

The district government continues to work and coordinate with the West Sumatra Provincial Government so that the installation of the bailey bridge can be immediately realized as a temporary solution.

"We encourage the bailey bridge to be installed immediately, so that people's access can be reopened and economic activities can run normally," he said.

He added that this condition had been reported directly to President Prabowo Subianto during a working visit to Agam.

It is hoped that with the acceleration of the installation of the bailey bridge, the public's transportation access can immediately recover and the lives of the affected residents can return to normal.

Previously, the regent had reviewed the road that was broken in Tanjung Mutiara District, Thursday (18/12).

In Agam, there are 28 damaged bridges, spread across five sub-districts due to flash floods and landslides.

Camat Tanjung Mutiara Edo Aipa Pratama added that in Tanjung Mutiara District there were three bridges that were swept away by the flood, namely Ujung Karang I Bridge, Ujung Karang II Bridge, and Bakung Bridge.

Due to the broken bridge, people in Subang-subang are still isolated because the land access cannot be passed and can only be reached by boat.

He added that around 700 families were affected by the flood and had difficulty accessing due to the interruption of transportation routes to Labuhan and Subang-subang. This condition also hinders economic activity and the mobility of the local community.
