JAKARTA - The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) deployed the EC-725/H225M Caracal helicopter to land on a river stream to distribute logistics for disaster victims in Aceh.
The landing on the river was carried out in Gayo Lues Regency, Aceh, Monday (15/12).
"Landing in the river is chosen as a distribution point because of the limitations of terrain and infrastructure conditions that do not allow the use of land routes," said the Head of the TNI AU Information Service (Kadispenau) First Marshal TNI I Nyoman Suadnyana as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, December 17.
I Nyoman continued, the location is the only area that can be reached by helicopter to ensure that assistance reaches the residents.
Although the landing was difficult because of the uneven landing site contour, the helicopter pilot still made the landing in order to distribute assistance to disaster victims.
"The crew of the TNI AU helicopter carried out the flight procedure with high accuracy for the safety of personnel and the smooth distribution of logistics," explained I Nyoman.
I Nyoman continued, a total of 1,800 kilograms of logistical assistance was brought by helicopter from Soewondo Air Base, Medan.
"Logistics are distributed to Simpur Jaya Village with 900 kilograms and Rumah Bundar Village with 900 kilograms, two affected villages whose land access is difficult to reach after the disaster," said I Nyoman.
With these efforts, I Nyoman hopes that the distribution of logistics can run optimally.
