At The UMMI Hospital Session, Rizieq Shihab Accuses Bima Arya Of Creating Confusion Because

JAKARTA - The defendant in the UMMI Hospital swab case, Rizieq Shihab, said that the Bogor Mayor Bima Arya's action caused anxiety and confusion. This is because Bima Arya said that he was being treated for positive COVID-19.

"Because the mayor of Bogor is making a lot of noise in the media, finally the public knows everywhere. So that means the hoax news added by the Mayor of Bogor in the media has finally added to the anxiety that occurs in the community," Rizieq said in a trial at the Jakarta District Court. Timur, Thursday, May 27th.

In fact, Rizieq Shihab said that he had an agreement with the UMMI Hospital. Its contents, to keep the condition itself secret when treated.

The goal is to keep the condition and treatment a secret so that friends and family do not worry. So, they don't flock to visit him which will only have an impact on the crowd.

"When I entered the hospital I had an agreement with the hospital so that my treatment would be kept secret, because I was afraid later (the public would find out). The hospital agreed", said Rizieq.

"And I am ready to follow the hospital's directions for how long I will be treated regardless of the illness. But because the mayor of Bogor is busy in the media, finally the public knows everywhere," Rizieq said.

However, Rizieq continued, the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya, came to the UMMI Hospital while carrying the COVID-19 Task Force. They asked for medical records and wanted to do a PCR test on him.

So, it made him feel uncomfortable. Moreover, Bima Arya informed his whereabouts who were being treated.

For that reason, Rizieq decided to leave the UMMI Hospital. He prefers to undergo treatment at home.

"This makes my heart anxious, restless, uncomfortable. The Panel of Judges finally I asked permission, then I was treated at home because there are private doctors at home," he said.

For information, in this case Rizieq Shihab was sentenced to 10 months in prison. Because, he was accused of spreading fake news or hoaxes that caused chaos. This false news is related to his health condition which was confirmed positive for COVID-19 while at UMMI Hospital in Bogor, West Java.

Rizieq Shihab was charged with Article 14 paragraph (1), paragraph (2), Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations and / or Article 14 paragraph (1), paragraph (2) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 4 years 1984 concerning Communicable Disease Outbreaks and / or Article 216 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
