JAKARTA - The North Kalimantan Provincial Government (Pemprov) for the first time managed to achieve the "Informative" title in the 2025 Public Information Openness Award (KIP) event organized by the Central Information Commission of the Republic of Indonesia (KI Pusat).
The award was received by the Governor of Kaltara Zainal A. Paliwang from the Head of the KI Center's Regulation and Public Policy, Gede Narayana, at the KI 2025 Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) event at the Bidakara Hotel, Jakarta, Monday (15/12/2025).
The North Kalimantan Provincial Government is considered to have shown significant progress in the implementation of public information openness, transparent, accountable, and participatory government governance in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Openness.
In the assessment, the North Kalimantan Provincial Government received a score of 94.25, carrying the title of "Informative" among 197 public bodies, and ranked 12th out of 21 provincial governments in Indonesia.
On the same occasion, the Central KI also launched the Public Information Disclosure Index (IKIP) 2025. Through this index, the Kaltara Province recorded a score of 68.81, above the national average and in the "Medium" category.
Governor Zainal emphasized that this achievement was a momentum to strengthen the role of all Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) in the service of public information openness. He encouraged the synergy of OPD and the Provincial Information Commission so that the culture of transparency would be strengthened in Kaltara.
"This award is the result of the joint work of all regional devices that consistently open the widest possible information space for the public. This achievement is expected to be a driver for improving the quality of information services and public participation in regional development," said Governor Zainal.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of the Central KI of Rospita Vici Paulyn said that the Monev KIP 2025 recorded positive developments nationally, as the number of new public bodies increased and the number of institutions that received the informative predicate increased.
The Chairman of the Central KI, Donny Yoesgiantoro, emphasized that the implementation of Monev is not merely an administrative obligation.
"Strengthening the Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) is the key to realizing quality information openness in every public agency," he concluded. (*)
