Police Begin To Arrange Witnesses Behind Alleged Violations Of The Governor's Prokes Jatim Khofifah

JAKARTA - Police began investigating the reporting of alleged violations of health protocols involving the Governor of East Java Khofifah and Wagub Emil Elestianto Dardak. Investigators have already listed witnesses who will be questioned.

"The team has been working since yesterday. For the examination of witnesses this week there are already scheduled to be asked for information," East Java Police Public Relations Chief Kombes Gatot Repli Handoko told VOI, Wednesday, May 26.

However, Gatot did not detail the timing of the examination of the witness. Including, the identities of the witnesses who will be examined.

The reason is that the investigating team is still recording other witnesses that are considered important to be questioned.

"The data is still not updated from the team for his name (witness)," he said.

Previously, circulated on social media a video showing the celebration of the birthday party of the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa held during the pandemic. In fact, East Java is included in the province with a fairly high rate of SPREAD OF COVID-19.

Referencing the video uploaded by @LaporCovid Twitter account, there were people swarming. Although, some of them are seen wearing masks.

Also mentioned in the birthday party event was presenting the capital's artists. The event got more festive by midnight.

The so-called birthday party lasts for several hours. Until 22.00 WIB the event was never completed. But regarding the virality of this video, Khofifah has not provided an explanation.

Responding to the viral video, Plh Sekdaprov Jatim, Heru Tjahjono called the event his initiative to invite orphans and others, on Wednesday night, May 19.

The event was also attended by a limited number of Heads of Regional Device Organizations (OPD) in the East Java Provincial Government, Grahadi officers with a total of 50 people. While the capacity of Grahadi yard can reach 2 thousand people.

"We together with several OPD heads took the initiative to celebrate the Governor's Birthday celebration by inviting orphans," said Heru, in Surabaya, Friday, May 21, 2021.

Heru explained that khofifah birthday celebration has implemented a very strict health protocol (prokes). In addition, the Head of OPD East Java Provincial Government who attended during this time regularly, a maximum of once a month conducted a PCR swab test, and currently there is no confirmed COVID-19. Moreover, all of them have also completed the COVID-19 vaccination twice.

Meanwhile, for the invited orphans have also previously been screened first through antigen swab, and it has been confirmed that the result is negative.
