BOGOR - DPRD Bogor City approved the Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda) proposal for initiatives regarding the Implementation of People's Markets, Shopping Centers, and Supermarkets for further discussion. The approval was conveyed in a plenary meeting on Tuesday, December 2.

The chairman of the Regional Regulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda) of the Bogor City DPRD, Anna Mariam Fadhilah, explained that the preparation of the Raperda was motivated by the need to regulate the distribution of shopping centers while maintaining regional economic stability.

"The right arrangements from the Regional Government are needed to create a healthy, just and sustainable business climate," Anna said in her statement, Tuesday, December 9.

Anna said that the Raperda targets a number of targets, ranging from protection, arrangement, to empowerment of people's markets, traders, consumers, and other economic entities. This rule is also expected to create synergies between shopping centers and supermarkets with the people's market so that all sectors can grow faster and sustainably.

"The development of trade activities in Bogor City requires regulations that can maintain balance, equality, and justice between people's markets, shopping centers, and supermarkets," said Anna.

In the preparation of the initial draft of Raperda, the Bogor City DPRD involved various parties, ranging from the community, students, economic experts to experts. Input is collected through a hearing (RDP) held by each commission in the DPRD.

Anna emphasized that community involvement is carried out to ensure that every article in the Raperda is as needed and reflects the real conditions on the ground.

"Of course we get a lot of input from the community. We hope that later this Raperda will be able to answer the economic sector problem in Bogor City," said Anna.

One of the prominent inputs is related to the distance between minimarkets which are considered too close and are considered to threaten the sustainability of the MSME shop business.

"This will also be included in the article that regulates supermarkets and minimarkets," he said.

Raperda's initial Draft consists of seven chapters with a total of 61 articles.
