Minister Of Religion Nasaruddin Says All Religions Agree On Corruption, The Enemy Of Humanity

Minister of Religion (Menag) Nasaruddin Umar said that all religions agreed that corruption was the enemy of humanity. He emphasized that this extraordinary crime must be eradicated.

This was conveyed in his remarks while attending the peak of World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) 2025 at the Yogyakarta Kepatihan complex on Wednesday, December 9.

The Minister of Religion initially explained that politics and law were sometimes difficult to enforce the rules so that religious language was needed.

"Why is this religious language important? Because it is associated with reward and sin. Breaking tree branches for no reason is a sin. Watering yellow grass means also a reward," said Nasaruddin.

Nasaruddin hopes that religious language can make corruption disappear. Together with all religious leaders and even beliefs, he has gathered views on ways to prevent corruption based on local wisdom.

"We hope that with this religious language, hopefully later corruption will decrease and even disappear at all," he said.

"Ladies and gentlemen, in all religions, agree that corruption is a enemy of humanity that we must eradicate," he added.

Even so, Nasaruddin emphasized that the issue of corruption could not only be resolved at the end.

"But it's not enough to solve the downstream problem, we need to solve the upstream problem," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK chose Yogyakarta as the center of Hakordia 2025 activity with the theme 'Satukan Aksi, Basmi Korupsi'. This activity was held on December 6-9

Yogyakarta was chosen by the KPK because it is known as a city of education and a city of culture. This condition is in line with efforts to eradicate corruption, especially through the course of prevention and education.
