It is known that tensions between the two neighboring countries escalated last month following the suspension of peace pacts between the two sides by Thailand after four Thai soldiers were injured in a landmine explosion in the border province of Si Sa Ket.
Previously, the two countries signed a peace agreement before US President Donald Trump and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur in October.
In early July, they agreed an unconditional ceasefire at a trilateral meeting hosted by Anwar after weeks of hostilities.
