The Central Executive Board of the National Awakening Party (DPP PKB) has started filtering out candidates for chairman of the Regional Management Board (DPW) through a Feasibility and Fitness Test (UKK) which will be held for two days, on Monday and Tuesday, December 8, 2025.
As many as 50 candidates from various provinces participated in the first batch of selections which took place at the PKB DPP office, Jakarta.
This UKK is the initial process of drafting the leadership of the PKB regional structure ahead of the agenda for strengthening party organizations. The DPP assessed that the selection stage was needed to ensure that provincial leaders worked according to the direction of the struggle and the need for party consolidation.
Chairman of the PKB DPP for Organizational, Legislative and Executive Management, Abdul Halim Iskandar or Gus Halim emphasized that the UKK process was not just an administrative assessment.
"This UKK is a form of PKB transparency in capturing candidates for chairman of the DPW. We want to ensure that each candidate has a strong capacity, leadership character, and integrity," said Halim in Jakarta, Monday, December 8.
Halim emphasized that the selection is not just a formal stage that must be passed by prospective regional heads.
"This UKK is not just a formality. This is a serious effort by PKB to ensure that the candidate for chairman of the DPW really has the capacity, integrity, and leadership ability. The strength of PKB in the future is greatly determined by the quality of its leaders," he added.
In his presentation, Halim said the UKK process was in line with the direction of PKB General Chair Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar. According to him, strengthening the organizational structure is the main foundation for political work of parties in the regions.
"The big idea of the General Chair is to build a empowered structure, a structure that really works for the people. This UKK is a direct translation of that vision. We want to ensure that every DPW is in the hands of a leader who has the skills and orientation of the struggle that is in line with his leadership line," said Halim.
On the first day, the candidates underwent a series of psychological tests and leadership assessments. The PKB DPP presents professionals to ensure the objectivity of the assessment, ranging from FCAT, MSDT, graphic tests, FTPI, to LSQ.
The next stage is a presentation of ideas and presentations of vision and mission on the second day. After that, participants participated in the Leaderless Group Discussion (LGD) to see the ability of collaboration, communication, decision making, and leadership responses in dynamic situations.
According to Halim, all stages are designed to measure the readiness of potential leaders at the provincial level to be able to coordinate structures, read local political dynamics, and lead the consolidation of cadres.
He reiterated the quality of regional leaders to determine the solidity of party organizational structures.
"We want DPW to be led by the best cadres. Those who not only have big ideas, but also energy and commitment to raise PKB and serve the people," he said.
The PKB DPP targets the UKK process to take place in several waves until all provinces undergo leadership assessments. The evaluation and determination of the next DPW chairman will be prepared based on the results of the layered selection as a step to strengthen the organizational structure at the regional level.
