TANAH DATAR - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) proposed a budget of around Rp. 13 trillion to rehabilitate and reconstruct all infrastructure damaged by hydrometeorological disasters in West Sumatra Province (West Sumatra).

"We have proposed specifically for West Sumatra it is around Rp. 13 trillion, but that is only personal. Later a written proposal will be made to the President. We will propose again," said PU Minister Doddy Hanggodo in Tanah Datar Regency, Monday, December 8.

Dody said his party had seen a number of points affected in the province, including Malalak in Agam Regency and Anai Valley, Malalo and Sumpur in Tanah Datar Regency.

Based on the field review, he emphasized that the Ministry of Public Works and related parties agreed to immediately clean up all infrastructure affected by the disaster, including roads, bridges and others.

"Anyway, we will clean up all affected infrastructure and according to President Prabowo's direction, it will be carried out again by the central government," he said.

In line with that, Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Andre Rosiade, explained that the Ministry of Public Works has basically collected data on infrastructure damaged in West Sumatra due to disasters, both roads covering national, provincial and urban roads.

This includes damage to irrigation, office buildings, houses of worship, schools, madrasas and other infrastructure.

"So the Ministry of Public Works has recorded it, it has been calculated in the amount of Rp. 13 trillion and this has been submitted to the President," he said.

He hopes that the Ministry of Public Works' proposal can be approved so that the rehabilitation and reconstruction of all infrastructure damaged by disasters in West Sumatra can be carried out.

On the other hand, he ensured that the Rp13 trillion budget would not affect infrastructure projects currently underway, including Flyovers or Flyovers.

"Don't worry because there are no cuts in the existing budget. Routine budgets and other developments are still running," he added.
