COVID-19 Update As Of May 25: 5,060 New Cases, Accumulated 1,786,187 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) released additional positive cases of the latest COVID-19 as of today. A total of 84,424 specimens were examined with the results of 5,060 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was found in Indonesia reached 1,786,187 people and active cases of 94,486 cases," as quoted from the Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, May 25.

Cases recovered today increased by 3,795 cases, bringing the total to 1,642,074 people cured. Then, the number of positive confirmation cases that died increased by 172 people and a total of 49,627 people.

The province with the most new cases was in West Java with 1,024 cases and a total of 307,831 cases. Followed by Central Java which has 696 new cases with a total of 195,238 cases. Riau has 642 new cases and a total of 56,167 cases. Then, DKI Jakarta has 384 new cases and a total of 425,212 cases.

The province with the most cured cases today belongs to West Java with an increase of 1,022 cured cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 886 cases recovered, Central Java with an increase of 334 cases recovered, and West Sumatra with an increase of 184 cases recovered.

There are two provinces that reported no new cases today. The provinces that reported zero new cases were West Sulawesi and Papua.

In addition, the number of specimens examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 16,209,568.

"The positive result per number of specimens examined or positivity rate this week was 14.81 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspek cases, it is recorded at 92.3504 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 15,330,306 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 10,125,480 second dose vaccinations. Meanwhile, the total vaccination target of phase 1 and 2 reached 40,349,049 people.
