In Order For Law Enforcement To Be Clean-Transparent, Polda Metro Asks For Additional ETLE Cameras

Polda Metro Jaya hopes that there will be additional Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) cameras to strengthen law enforcement which is more objective and fair to traffic violations.

The ETLE camera in the Polda Metro Jaya area is currently spread over 127 static ETLE points and 8 mobile ETLE points. Of course we really hope that there will be additional cameras in our area," said Director of Traffic and Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Komarudin at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Antara, Monday, December 8.

Komarudin explained that the addition of the ETLE camera aims so that members in the field no longer need to interact directly with the community, thereby minimizing the potential for transactional action.

"So that members on the road are only enough to focus on giving sympathetic warnings for visible violations, including the appeal that we have made at this time: community service with heart and humaneism," said Komarudin.

He said his party was always on standby 24 hours and the average ETLE camera was able to record tens of thousands of violations every day.

"Hopefully with the culture and socialization that we continue to provide, people can be more obedient," he said.

Currently, Polda Metro Jaya has a total of 161 ETLE devices, consisting of 127 static ETLE, 8 ETLE on board, 22 ETLE integration with speedcam, and 4 units of ETLE integration with Weight in Motion (WIM).

Komarudin also detailed the data on the prosecution of the Metro Jaya Police ETLE for the period January to November 2025. The number of violators recorded reached 1,816,447 units.

"There are 1,163,111 units validated, 463,844 units confirmed, and 421,322 units have been paid," said Komarudin.

Meanwhile, the Head of Traffic Police, Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, conveyed the plan to increase the number of ETLE cameras from 127 to 500 points.

“Jadi tidak ada persentuhan antara masyarakat dan petugas sehingga ini betul-betul transparan,” ujarnya.

"So there is no agreement between the community and officers so this is really transparent," he said.
