The large floods that hit the Tanjung Pura area, Langkat Regency, did not prevent volunteers from the Amil Zakat Infak and Shadaqah Community Independence Institutes (LazisKU) from ensuring assistance remained in the hands of residents. Because the total cut land road access forced the volunteer team to find alternative routes. The Wampu River, Sei Snake Village is the only access that allows it to penetrate the affected areas.

With a motorboat and complete safety equipment, the LazisKU team broke through the swift current of the river to carry logistics packages for hundreds of residents who are still isolated. The assistance brought includes rice, basic necessities, mineral water, baby milk, and other urgent needs, on Friday, December 5, 2025.

Head of the North Sumatra LazisKU Rapid Response Team, Aidi Sasmita, explained that distribution through the River was a strategic decision given the field conditions that were cut off.

"We don't want residents to wait too long. When the road cannot be passed, it is the river that connects expectations. Alhamdulillah, distribution runs smoothly even though it is full of challenges," he said.

Residents of Tanjung Pura welcomed the arrival of assistance with emotion. Many of them have survived for days without access to logistics due to flooding.

Syaiful Amri, General Secretary of the Regional Management of the Greater Family of Indonesian Islamic Students (KB PII) of North Sumatra revealed that apart from distributing aid, the LazisKU team also carried out further assessments for further needs, including emergency health services and post-flood recovery assistance.

This action reaffirms LazisKU's commitment to independent the people, who are always ready to penetrate the boundaries, reach the most difficult areas even to ensure that aid is right on target and to the survivors, Syaiful Amri also expressed his gratitude and respect to the donors, "Hopefully Allah SWT will repay our kindness," he concluded.
