SemarANG - Mayor of Semarang, Agustina Wilujeng is lined up to be one of the main resource persons in the special Indonesia Got You program which was held at Muladi Dome Undip Semarang, Tuesday (2/12). The event, which raised four important pillars (Innovation, Energy, Finance, and Health), aims to inspire young people to face future challenges.

In a special dialogue session themed "It's Okay Not to Be Okay. Take care of Mental, Take Care of the Future," Agustina highlighted the dynamics of student life in urban cities such as Semarang which brings opportunities as well as new pressures. He admitted that living in big cities poses challenges for young people, ranging from changing lifestyles, technological developments, to the swiftness of information that affects the way they judge themselves and socialize.

The stigma towards mental health is still a major obstacle. That is our challenge. Therefore, the City Government or the Semarang City Government is here as a listener and protector, ready to assist young people in managing the future," said Agustina.

The Semarang City Government has taken quick steps by placing mental health as a priority. This effort includes providing free and private counseling services (free and private), services at PUSPAGA, Puskesmas, and hospitals, to strategic collaborations with the Faculty of Psychology Undip and Unika as well as other psychological clinics to accelerate handling.

"We thank you because the central government has given a kind of obligation. Your obligation, local government, you have to be like this, like this, especially for mental health. So we have sufficient reasons to ask for help from universities and psychological institutions to be able to join in taking care of this (mental health)," explained Agustina.

In addition to mental issues, the Mayor also explained the youth creative potential development program, for example through written work competitions and encouraged those who have a game hobby to take advantage of it as a serious career opportunity. This writing program is like a story about the village, intended to train children's sensitivity and focus on their environment.

Young people have very high social weaknesses, they are quickly burned and emotional. So, we open up opportunities for children to want to write stories about the village. What is this for? To train the sensitivity they have, it focuses on something," said Agustina.

"It's the same about games. In an implicit way, we want to say that about this game, you don't just play, you play, it's consumers. So you can also make money from games," he added.

At the end of the session, the Mayor emphasized that the role of the city government is to provide the right 'shulder to cry on' (place to lean). One of them is through activities initiated by KNPI, which cooperates with the Undip Faculty of Psychology, to visit schools and use educational games as media to lure children to open up and tell stories about the problems they face.
