Bogor Police Prepares New Scheme To Set Peak Traffic Ahead Of Christmas-New Year

The Bogor Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) has prepared a new scheme with a number of traffic engineering (traffic) to deal with increased community mobility during Christmas and New Year's (Nataru) 2025 on the Puncak route, Bogor Regency, West Java.

said the preparation of the traffic scheme was carried out earlier by evaluating the implementation of the 2024 Nataru security and the potential obstacles that might occur at congestion-prone points.

"We have prepared personnel and all schemes are still under the study of Korlantas, Ditlantas, and Satlantas, including the evaluation of obstacles for the previous year," said Rizky Guntama as quoted by ANTARA.

He explained that the Bogor Police are also reviewing the option of implementing odd-even (gage) for all vehicles, including motorcycles, which were previously only applied to four-wheeled vehicles and above.

"In this study, the gage allows to be applied to motorbikes. However, everything is still being discussed across agencies," he said.

In addition, the Bogor Police together with related agencies again discussed the possibility of the car free night on the Puncak route on New Year's Eve. The policy has been implemented in the last two years and is considered quite effective.

"The last two years of thecar free night went smoothly, but there are still things that need to be improved so that this year we discussed it earlier," he said.

Rizky said the current density in the Puncak area generally started on December 24' 26, then increased again on December 30' 31 to the first day of the new year, depending on the position of holidays and weekends.

He appealed to the public to prepare all complete vehicle administration, physical conditions, and travel planning, especially for tourists who spend the night in the Puncak area to anticipate traffic engineering on New Year's Eve.

"Our prediction is that there may be an increase, it could be more crowded than the previous year. So calculate the readiness so that holidays don't become an obstacle," said Rizky.

He emphasized that the Bogor Police are ready to carry out Nataru's integrated security under the leadership of the Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto.
