Prabowo Ensures Distribution Of Aid Flows To Isolated Areas By Air

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto ensured that assistance for flood-affected residents in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra continued to flow even though a number of areas were still cut off from land access.

Prabowo emphasized that the government will deploy assistance by air by helicopter and aircraft.

"So, in North Sumatra, I am also new from there, the condition of some districts is still difficult, some districts have not been able to penetrate from land, but we have been able to visit from the air, from helicopters, planes. In Aceh too," Prabowo said during a review of the locations affected by the disaster in Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra, Monday, December 1, confiscated by Antara.

Prabowo said conditions at several points were starting to improve. In West Sumatra, for example, he received reports that electricity supply was almost 100 percent recovering, while repairs to clean water networks and construction of emergency bridge access were being accelerated.

The government also ensures that residents' houses damaged by the flood will receive assistance. The President also emphasized that all disaster management was carried out for the benefit of the people.

"I pray, ladies and gentlemen, be strong. Believe that we are all one big family, we will not let our own brothers and sisters bear the burden," said the President.

Prior to conducting a review of the disaster-affected locations in Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra, President Prabowo also visited flood victims in Kutacane, Southeast Aceh Regency, and Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra.

During the visit, the President confirmed that the government would accelerate the construction of emergency access and also reconstruct permanent bridges.

The President also emphasized that the handling of flood disasters on the island of Sumatra was carried out quickly, precisely, and thoroughly.
