KEDIRI - The Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Elderly Forum encourages islah in resolving the conflict currently occurring in the ranks of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU). The senior Kiai asked all parties to exercise restraint and not to make things worse.

Spokesperson for the NU Elderly Forum, KH Oing Abdul Muid Sohib, said the senior kiai had held a special meeting to discuss the internal dynamics that occurred at PBNU.

"The Nahdlatul Ulama Elderly Forum expresses deep concern over the current conditions at PBNU, and all hope that this will happen soon," said KH Oing Abdul Muid Sohib in Kediri, Antara, Sunday, November 30.

The meeting was initiated by two main figures, namely KH Anwar Manshur from the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School Kediri and KH Nurul Huda Djazuli from the Al Falah Ploso Islamic Boarding School, Kediri.

In addition to expressing concern, the NU Elderly Forum also calls for parties involved in the conflict to refrain and stop statements in the media, especially those that have the potential to expose internal disgrace and undermine the dignity of the congregation.

The Forum also urges NU structures at all levels starting from PWNU, PCNU, PCINU, to lower institutions to stay focused on their respective tasks and programs, and not be involved in ongoing conflicts.

Gus Muid added that the NU Elderly Forum asked NU residents to take care of ukhuwah nahdliyah and to be wise in social media.

"The Forum also urges NU residents to increase their takarub to Allah SWT while asking that the problems that occur in PBNU immediately get a way out," he said.

He ensured that the results of the meeting of the elderly kiai would be followed up in the near future as an effort to accelerate the realization of islah. This meeting is the beginning. Next, there will be further steps so that islah is truly realized," said Gus Muid.
