JAKARTA - Political rivalry towards the 2024 presidential election between Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo and House Speaker Puan Maharani

Polemics appeared when Ganjar Pranowo was not invited in the briefing of Puan Maharani to cadres, Saturday, May 22. For PDIP Jateng, Ganjar is too ambitious. In fact, Ganjar who should be the regional head of the event location as well as pdip cadres should also attend the event.

Related to the 2024 Presidential Election, Executive Director of the Center for Public Policy Studies (CPPS) Indonesia Bambang Istianto assessed, Ganjar Pranowo has high selling power to compete as a capres in the 2024 elections.

"Indeed, ganjar Pranowo figure sold. In addition to experience in bureaucracy, Ganjar personally is a representation of Indonesian society that is known to be polite," bambang said in his written statement, Monday, May 24.

If head to head, Puan and Ganjar both have lead experience. Puan was the Minister of Foreign Affairs and chairman of the House of Representatives. Meanwhile, Ganjar became governor of Central Java for two periods.

Bambang sees, Ganjar can be accepted in all circles compared to other bull party cadres. Moreover, Ganjar has never had personal resistance with any group.

According to him, the political maneuvering that Ganjar made to boost popularity and electability is not excessive. Because bambang said, when viewed from the political reality today, Indonesia needs a leader who can embrace all components.

"Well, the figure is in Ganjar," bambang said.

Bambang added, it is the internal PDIP that overreacts to the results of ganjar survey. In fact, the result should be responded well by the party.

"The electability of Ganjar is a political reality. It's just that maybe internal PDIP fear Ganjar more popular than the candidates who will be carried pdip," concluded Bambang.

Previously, senior PDIP politician Hendrawan Supratikno confirmed that his party is currently busy consolidating so as not to comment on the polemic between the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo and the Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani, who are both pdip cadres.
