Pasamuan Agung Walubi Opened, Menbud Emphasizes Dharma As Pillar Of Civilization

JAKARTA Pasamuan Agung IV Walubi was officially opened at JIExpo Jakarta, Saturday, November 29, with the affirmation of the Minister of Culture Fadli Zon that Dharma is an important pillar in forming the archipelago civilization.

Fadli emphasized that Indonesia inherited the great traditions of Sriwijaya and Ancient Mataram which made Dharma the basis for learning and culture. He said the government continues to strengthen cultural conservation, from conservation of Buddhist sites to revitalization of tradition.

"We hope that these sites will not just be monuments, but live heritage," said Fadli.

Pasamuan Agung, who is Walubi's highest forum, will appoint the General Chairperson of the 2025'2030 Walubi DPP and form the Formatur Team through a number of plenary and plenary sessions. This forum was attended by 1,500 Buddhists from all over Indonesia.

Ketum DPP Walubi 1998 '2025, S. Hartati Murdaya, emphasized the importance of Dharma Agama and Dharma Negara in strengthening the understanding of Buddhist teachings. He also highlighted the importance of preserving the Buddhist historic region, especially Muarajambi.

Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar added that Dharma must be a source of peace between religious believers. He assessed that the practice of universal love is able to ward off radicalism and intolerance.

The opening of the Pasamuan Agung was marked by the beatings of the benchmark by the Minister of Education, Minister of Religion, Hartati Murdaya, and Rudy Sumanto.
