BANDA ACEH - North Aceh Regent Ismail A Jalil admitted that he asked the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) for the restoration of a communication network that was completely extinguished due to the flooding that hit the area.

"The regent has contacted the Deputy Minister of Communication and Trade, Nezar Patria, to restore the communication network that has hampered disaster management information," said North Aceh Regency Government Spokesperson, Muntasir Ramli, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, November 29.

The Regent of North Aceh, who is familiarly called Wa's father, reported that communication networks in the North Aceh region and its surroundings experienced a blackout due to the flash flood that hit since Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

The report was submitted directly to the Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Nezar Patria to request immediate assistance in recovery.

"The network is paralyzed, disaster management is hampered, this large-scale network disruption confirmed by Komdigi has caused 799 telecommunication sites in Aceh to die and have a very critical impact on disaster management operations in North Aceh," he said.

He said the delay in the evacuation and rescue process was due to the breakdown of the coordination line between the SAR team and the command center.

The breakdown of communication lines also hampered the data collection on the number of refugees, estimated infrastructure damage, and obstacles in the distribution of logistical assistance on target.

"Earlier we reported it directly to Mr. Deputy Minister Nezar Patria to immediately help restore communication channels in the North Aceh region and its surroundings. He immediately responded quickly and sent a team to carry out recovery," said Muntasir.
