Through MUI, Ustaz Adi Hidayat Submits Aid To Palestine Rp14.3 Billion

JAKARTA - Ustaz Adi Hidayat handed over Rp14.3 billion in humanitarian funds from the Indonesian people to Palestine through the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).

The funds are planned to be allocated for the construction of a hospital in Hebron City, Palestine.

"We are called based on the mandate of the 1945 Constitution to equally contribute in helping others. We handed over one million U.S. dollars to help Palestine through MUI," Adi Hidayat said while handing over aid at mui central office, Jakarta as reported by Antara, Monday, May 24.

According to UAH -- a close call of Ustaz Adi Hidayat -- it opened a fundraiser from May 16 to 22. During the six days it has raised humanitarian funds of around Rp30 billion from the people of Indonesia.

The figure will be distributed in three priority categories, namely for various urgent needs, the construction of hospitals / infrastructure, and education programs for the Palestinian people.

In meeting urgent needs, Adi has distributed rp10.2 billion of people's funds through the Indonesian International Networking for Humanitarian Agency (INH) in Gaza.

As for the allocation such as medicine, food, ambulances, to compensation for victims of Israeli military aggression.

While education assistance, Adi will cooperate with universities in Indonesia to accommodate Palestinian students.

"Collapsed buildings can be rebuilt, destroyed houses can be rebuilt, but mentally destroyed and underdeveloped education is not easy to be able to rebuild. That's why we have a long-term program to support education," he said.

Along with that, MUI will also hand over phase one funding for the construction of Hebron Indonesia Hospital (RSIH) amounting to Rp19 billion to The Mayor of Hebron Tayser Abu Sneineh.

Furthermore, donations collected by Adi Hidayat along with donations that have been successfully raised by the Central MUI Rsih Development Committee will be handed over symbolically to the Palestinian Ambassador in Jakarta Zuhair Al Shun.

The construction of rsih Palestina has been proclaimed mui since the beginning of 2020. The humanitarian aid received support from Hebron Mayor Tayser Anu Sneineh and the MoU was conducted in Amman Jordan on January 20, 2020.

In the MoU, it was agreed that rsih development cooperation. Mui Pusat will provide and seek to cost Rp100 billion from humanitarian donations of all Indonesians, while the Mayor of Hebron will provide an area of 4,000 m2.

After the symbolic handover of this stage one, fundraising for the construction of RSIH will still continue. The handover was done gradually in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Amman which concurrently for the State of Palestine.

"MUI's support is not only manifested in the form of humanitarian assistance, but also political support through the Government of Indonesia in order to continue to be the vanguard in the peaceful settlement of Israeli colonial aggression that is not in accordance with humanity and justice," said MUI Vice Chairman Muhyiddin Junaidi.
