Meeting With Korlantas Polri, PDIP Legislator Supports Ban On Using Tot-Tot Wuk-Wuk Continued

JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR RI from the PDIP faction, Safaruddin, supports the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police to continue implementing the ban on sirens in traffic. Moreover, the policy received high appreciation from the public.

This support was conveyed by Safaruddin in a working meeting of Commission III of the DPR RI with the Head of Korlantas Polri Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho and Dirlantas throughout Indonesia who discussed the preparation of Korlantas in security during the Christmas and New Year 2026 (Nataru) holidays.

"Regarding the issue of the siren, it's been studied continuously, Mr. Kakorlantas, until you change it, you continue to study it and this is very positive on social media to give appreciation to the freezing traffic," said Safaruddin at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Thursday, November 27, 2025.

The public was previously furious with the use of illegal sirens, rotators, and strobos on the road until the 'Stop Tot-Tot Wuk-Wuk' movement appeared, referring to the sound of car sirens. Later, this movement also targeted police traffic cars, or Patwal, who often Tot-Tot Wuk-Wuk on the road even though conditions were jammed.

The PDIP legislator from the East Kalimantan electoral district also assessed that the policies issued by Korlantas so far have helped increase the image of the police.

"With so many conditions, Kakorlantas' creativity with its innovations is indeed the fastest, Mr. traffic raises the image of the Police," said Safaruddin.

During the meeting, Safaruddin also expressed his support so that the National Police Headquarters was held by the Commissioner General (Komjen). He assessed that the position of Komjen was in accordance with the main duties and functions of a Kakorlantas.

"With the main duties and functions of Kakorlantas, I am also from the PDI-P to support three stars," he said.

Safaruddin, who is also a Retired Inspector General of the National Police, expressed his high appreciation for Korlantas under the leadership of Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho. According to him, the work of Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho who is willing to go to the field to directly regulate traffic in the country deserves appreciation.

"I'm also proud that our students are greater than the teacher, yes, 3 stars. It's enough that Astamarna just takes care of the budget, right, it's just at the table. 3 star, kakorlantas every day on the road control everything," he said.
