Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari said the flood occurred in Karangsambung, Alian, to Kebumen District on Tuesday, November 25.
"The process of collecting data by officers in the field is still ongoing with temporary reports, as many as 4,695 people have been affected," he said in Central Java, Tuesday, November 25, as reported by Antara.
Abdul explained that the flood also caused material damage, including one boarding school (ponpes) which was submerged with a total of around 2,200 students.

Earlier on Sunday, November 9, the densely populated residential area and agricultural centers were also hit by floods with water levels of more than 50 centimeters.
BNPB confirmed that the joint team of officers is still at the disaster site monitoring, collecting data, and assisting with emergency handling.
As a precautionary measure, Abdul said that the Central Java Provincial Government had set an emergency status for floods, landslides, and extreme weather through governor's decree number 100.3.3.1/409 which was valid until May 23, 2026.
"The BPBD team is still on standby to anticipate the potential for further rain. The community remains careful and follows the direction of the local government, especially those living in flood-prone areas and landslides," he said.
