Cak Imin-Nusron Wahid Meeting On Internal Conflict Of PBNU, What Is Discussed?

Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (Menko PM) Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) admitted that he had discussed the internal conflict between the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) and the Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid.

In the conflict, PBNU General Chair Yahya Cholil Staquf was asked to resign by Rais Aam PBNU.

The General Chairperson of the PKB who is also the grandson of the founder of NU, KH Bisri Syansuri, admitted that he would reveal the results of the discussion if there had been an official decision within the next internal PBNU. Cak Imin still kept the contents of the conversation a secret.

"Mr. Nusron and I will definitely, after an official meeting, talk about NU. What's in it, we agree on the contents, it's a secret," said Cak Imin at the office of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Central Jakarta, Monday, November 24.

Meanwhile, Nusron Wahid, who is also the former Deputy Chairperson of PBNU, hopes that the conflict within one of the largest Islamic community organizations (ormas) in Indonesia will subside.

"We pray that the storm passes quickly," said Nusron briefly.

The mistake of the PBNU Sharia daily meeting was widely circulated and became the talk of netizens on social media. The mistake contained Rais Aam and Deputy Rais Aam PBNU's decision to ask Yahya Cholil Staquf to resign from the position of Chairman of PBNU.

The Sharia Daily Meeting was held in Jakarta, Thursday (20/11), which was attended by 37 out of 53 PBNU sharia daily administrators. The meeting's guilt was signed by the chairperson of the PBNU meeting and Rais Aam KH Miftachul Akhyar.

Previously, General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya emphasized that he had no intention of resigning from his position amid the emergence of internal dynamics of the organization.

"The mandate that I received from the 34th Congress is valid for five years and will be carried out in full," he said after a coordination meeting with a number of NU Regional Leaders (PWNU) in Surabaya, Sunday, November 23.

Gus Yahya also said that until now he had not received an official letter in any form related to the circulation of internal issues. Documents that were touted as the minutes of Syuriyah's daily meeting on Thursday, November 20, which stated that the request to resign from the position of general chairman was the trigger for the impeachment issue.

He emphasized that the minutes must be checked for validity, including through proof of digital signatures commonly used in the organization.

Gus Yahya emphasized that PBNU Syuriyah does not have the authority to dismiss the General Chair or other structural officials in the organization. However, he is committed to finding the best solution for the benefit of NU and the nation.

"I have established communication with Syuriyah ranks. I hope that internal reconciliation can be realized immediately with the senior kiai and the relevant structure ranks," he said.
