Gus Yahya Continues To Carry Out The Trust Of The Results Of The 34th PBNU Congress

Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board, Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya, emphasized that he had no intention of resigning from the position mandated by the 34th Congress.

He conveyed this affirmation in front of the media crew after a coordination meeting with a number of Nahdlatul Ulama Regional Leaders (PWNU) in Surabaya, East Java, Sunday, November 23, early in the morning.

"The mandate that I received from the 34th Congress is valid for five years and will be carried out in full," said Gus Yahya, quoted from ANTARA.

Gus Yahya explained that his leadership mandate period lasted for five years and will be carried out completely. He emphasized that he would not make any decisions without a clear basis.

He also dismissed various accusations circulating in the public, including rumors about the alleged flow of funds worth hundreds of billions to him. According to him, every step must be taken based on data and evidence, not issues or allegations without basis.

Responding to documents circulating in the community regarding the minutes of Syuriyah's daily meeting on Thursday (20/11), Gus Yahya emphasized that he had not received an official letter in any form. Therefore, he asked the public to check the validity of the document, including through digital signatures commonly used in official signings in NU circles.

On the other hand, he straightened out that PBNU Syuriyah does not have the authority to dismiss general chairman or other structural officials within the organization. This also clarifies one of the issues that develop in the public.

"I have established communication with Syuriyah ranks. I hope that internal reconciliation can be realized immediately with the elderly and the relevant structural ranks," said Gus Yahya.

However, Gus Yahya emphasized that he remains committed to finding the best solution for the benefit of the organization and the nation. He stated that he had established communication with Syuriyah ranks and hoped that the internal reconciliation process could soon be realized with senior kiai.

Today, Gus Yahya is scheduled to meet the ulama to discuss, seek advice, and ask for prayers in an effort to maintain integrity and calm within the PBNU body.
