Russia Thwarts Railroad Explosives In Krasnodar, Accuses Ukrainian Intelligence Service

JAKARTA - The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) succeeded in thwarting the rail explosion in Krasnodar City, South Russia, the FSB branch in the Krasnodar Region said in a statement.

The Ukrainian intelligence agency is accused of being behind the plan to disrupt the delivery of military weapons and equipment to the special military operations zone.

"The Russian Federal Security Service in the Krasnodar Region has thwarted acts of terrorism against regional transportation infrastructure, which is masterminded by the Ukrainian intelligence agency," the agency said in a statement, launching TASS November 21.

"The plan is to blow up railroad tracks using homemade explosives to disrupt the delivery of military equipment and weapons to the special military operations zone," he continued.

"It has been confirmed that a Ukrainian citizen living in the Krasnodar Region was recruited by Ukrainian Security Service officers on social media and received orders to carry out a terrorist attack. However, officers at the regional FSB branch detected and thwarted his criminal activities," he said.

Further explained, "The FSB branch investigation department in the Krasnodar Region opens an investigation into the man based on Article 30.1 and Article 205.1 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Preparation for acts of terrorism") and paragraph (c) Article 222.1.3 ("illegal acquisition of explosives on the Internet")."

He added that the communication device confiscated from the suspect turned out to be correspondence with the 'manager'. In addition, law enforcement officers also found a storage area for homemade explosives intended to blow up railroad tracks.
