JAKARTA - The Bandung District Court (PN) sentenced Angga Siregar to one year in prison and a fine of Rp. 250 million, the defendant in the case of recording students in the female toilet of SMAN 12 Bandung.

Chairman of the Panel of Judges, Tuty Haryati, stated that the defendant was legally and convincingly proven to have committed a criminal act of producing or making pornography in accordance with Article 29 of Law Number 44 of 2008 concerning Pornography.

"Imposing a one-year prison sentence and a fine of Rp. 250 million, subsidiary to one month in prison," said Tuty in Bandung, Thursday, quoted by Antara.

The verdict is lighter than the demands of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) who asked for a sentence of one year and six months in prison with a fine of Rp. 290 million.

Public Prosecutor (JPU) Rully Wilastoro stated that he was still thinking about the decision. He also confirmed that the defendant had been charged with two videos in two different locations.

"The demand is one year and six months and a fine of Rp. 290 million. Because the defendant was thinking about it, we were thinking about it," said Rully.

Meanwhile, the parents of one of the NP victims admitted that they were disappointed with the decision which was considered far from a sense of justice.

They assessed that the prosecutor's initial demands were too light and articles related to child protection should have been used because the victim was still a minor.

"Of course we are disappointed. From the beginning, the demands of one year and six months have made us disappointed. Now we are sentenced to one year. The protection of women and children seems not prioritized," he said.

He said his son was still traumatized and afraid to go to the toilet alone since the incident.

Previously, this case was revealed by the Bandung Polrestabes after seven students from SMAN 12 reported to the Kiaracondong Police on May 22, 2025.

The perpetrator allegedly installed a hidden camera in the school toilet and also carried out a similar action at a villa in Lembang, which caused 12 additional victims.
