Mysterious Body Found Rotting In Cikande's Empty Hut, Police Investigate Victim's Identity

Cikande Police personnel together with the Serang Police Pamapta Team evacuated an unidentified body found in an empty hut in Kebon Jeruk Village, Parigi Village, Cikande District, Serang Regency, Wednesday night.

Cikande Police Chief AKP Tatang confirmed the evacuation after his party received a resident's report. The discovery began when the shop owner near the location smelled a foul smell and traced the source to an empty hut.

After searching the area around the shop, the witness found a smell coming from an empty hut about 10 meters away. When examined more closely, they were surprised to see a rotting corpse, "he said in Cikande, Antara, Thursday, November 20.

When officers came to the location and conducted a crime scene investigation, it was found that the body was male and was still wearing complete clothes. However, no identity cards or other clues were found on the victim's body or around the location.

"The condition of the corpse has undergone further decay. The pungent smell is up to a radius of 15 meters from the crime scene," said Tatang.

For the purposes of the investigation, the Pamapta Team together with the Serang Police Satreskrim Identification Unit evacuated the body to Bhayangkara Hospital for an autopsy. The examination was carried out to determine the cause of death and reveal the identity of the victim.

Based on witness testimony, about a week before the discovery of the corpse, a man was seen in the hut. The police are now urging the public to report if they feel they have lost their family members.

"We ask residents who feel they have lost their family members to immediately report to the Cikande Police," concluded Tatang.
