JAKARTA - The Governor of DKI Jakarta confirmed that the video that went viral on social media regarding the Sumatran tiger looked thin at the Ragunan Wildlife Park did not show the current condition. This was revealed by Pramono after meeting directly the tiger that was being discussed by the public.

Currently, the body of the Sumatran tiger named Sri Deli is quite fat. So, Pramono assessed that the viral video recording has recently been taken during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I have seen for myself the same animal, the same tiger that went viral was thin and now he is fat again and it is suspected that it was taken during COVID yesterday," said Pramono at Ragunan Wildlife Park, South Jakarta, Thursday, November 20.

On the one hand, Pramono also admitted that he did not know why the tiger that was kept by the DKI Provincial Government had been thin and looked unwell during the pandemic. Remember, he only served as Governor of DKI Jakarta this year.

"Yes, COVID is 2021-2022, I don't know the truth. But maybe when you are in COVID-19, people also don't dare to leave their activities and maybe the food is too late. But I don't know about what really happened," said Pramono.

Therefore, Pramono emphasized that the allegations that the theft of part of tiger feed by officers so that it affects his physical condition to be thin were not true.

"So what went viral was that it was as if the feed was brought back home was not true. Again, it's not true. For the process of giving this feed, it is closely monitored and someone is specifically responsible for the feed," said Pramono.

In addition to checking Deli's condition, Pramono also checked animal feed warehouses such as meat, leaves, vegetables, and fruit. To Pramono, the manager of Ragunan Wildlife Park ensures that animal feed stocks are sufficient and not misused.

"What we are concerned about is food or feed. So I ask the Head of the Service for this to be checked continuously. Do not let what has become a viral accusation be true," said Pramono.

Regarding allegations of animal feed theft, Pramono suspects that this was deliberately revealed by irresponsible people. "We are still making improvements to Ragunan. (Video) was taken, indeed people who were not happy that Ragunan was repaired, because seriously I will make Ragunan much more interesting," he continued.

Previously, Ragunan has been in the spotlight since the video of a Sumatran tiger went viral on social media. One of them is by the social media account Threads love_satwa_alam which uploaded a video of a tiger walking back and forth in Ragunan. At first glance, the tiger looks thin.

In the upload, one of the Threads accounts with the name andini.melda accused officers of often bringing home animal feed for personal consumption.

The TMR manager then met the account owner to ask for clarification. In the video uploaded to RagunanZoo's official Instagram account on Monday. Andini.melda apologized and admitted that her comments were not based on evidence.

"I would like to clarify and apologize to the Ragunan Wildlife Park, to the leadership and staff, in connection with my previous comments regarding the Ragunan Zoo officers who allegedly brought 10 kilos of beef and 10 chicken," he said.
