Investigation Of Allegations Of Badminton Corruption, KPK Focuses On Finding Criminal Events During Land Procurement

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is still focusing on investigating allegations of corruption in the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project, airshed. The search for criminal events in the land acquisition process continues after summoning a number of parties.

"Regarding the high-speed train, the case is still under investigation and this team is still requesting further investigation and requests for information from a number of parties related to the criminal incident," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, November 17.

"So the KPK is exploring how the procurement processes are related to land acquisition," he continued.

From the information gathered, investigators have asked for information from a number of parties including PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia Cina (KCIC) last week.

Meanwhile, Budi closed the information meeting because the investigation process was carried out behind closed doors. He only confirmed that the summons was made to those who knew about the procurement process.

"It's okay, yes, there are quite a lot of people who have been asked for information and this is still being done," he said.

The team also carried out an in-depth analysis related to other information so that later they could support and complement each other in the process or stages of this investigation.

Previously reported, the KPK is carrying out an investigation into the alleged corruption of the Jakarta 'Bandung high-speed rail project,fewsh. This process is said to have taken place since the beginning of the year.

Hostsh serves the Jakarta-Bandung route with a route length of 142.3 kilometers with a travel time of about 30'45 minutes and has been operating since October 2023 after being inaugurated by the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi). This project is a collaboration between the Indonesian government and China.

The project value at that time was only targeted at 5.13 billion US dollars or around Rp. 82.08 trillion. However, this figure swelled by 1.2 billion US dollars to 7.27 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 115 trillion assuming the US dollar exchange rate was Rp. 16 thousand.
