The Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Affirms That No Employees Are Involved In The 8.3 Kg Drug Network In East Kotawaringin

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Law confirmed that one of the three networks of inter-provincial drug dealers arrested by the authorities was not an employee.

Head of the Legal, Public Communication and Cooperation Bureau of the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ronald Lumbuun, said that his party had coordinated with regional offices and carried out internal checks to ensure the status of individuals who had been linked to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

"Through this statement, we on behalf of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights emphasized that no Ministry of Law and Human Rights employees were involved in the case. Thus, it is hoped that it can close the space for the circulation of false information in the community," Ronald said when confirmed, Antara, Monday, November 17.

The name of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights was previously dragged into an operation to arrest a network of interprovincial drug dealers after one of the three people arrested was suspected of being an employee of the Central Kalimantan Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office.

Ronald emphasized that the Ministry of Law and Human Rights always upholds the values of integrity and instills the values of BERAKHLAK and PASTI (Professional, Accountable, Synergy, Transparency, and Innovative) to all employees.

"It's a shame if the name of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights is spoken in negative cases like this," he said.

The news emerged after the Central Kalimantan Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) arrested three drug trafficking networks operating in Central Kalimantan and West Kalimantan.

During the arrest, BNNP secured 8.3 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from three perpetrators, namely the husband and wife pair Agus Sofi and Cece, and a young man named Reynold.

"We managed to secure the three of them on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman kilometer 21, to be precise near the Sei Lenggana bridge, East Kotawaringin Regency, on Saturday (8/11) night," said Acting Head of BNNP Central Kalimantan, Police Commissioner Ruslan Abdul Rasyid in Palangka Raya.

Penangkapan tersebut berawal dari laporan masyarakat yang ditindaklanjuti dengan penyelidikan hingga mengarah ke Kabupaten Kotawaringin Timur. Aparat kemudian memberhentikan dua mobil Toyota Calya hitam dan silver yang dikemudikan para pelaku.

The arrest began with a public report which was followed up with an investigation leading to East Kotawaringin Regency. The authorities then stopped two black and silver Toyota Calya cars driven by the perpetrators.

"But there was resistance when we secured them so we fired warning shots to stop the perpetrators," he said.
