Trapped In Online Gambling, Youth In Makassar Desperate To Steal Solar From Firefighters

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Ujung Tanah Police arrested a young man with the initials FH (22) who stole diesel fuel from the car tank of the Makassar City Government Fire and Rescue Service (Damkarmat) fleet.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Ujung Tanah Police, Iptu Tumijang, said the perpetrator was arrested at his home after his actions were uncovered by firefighters on guard.

From the results of the examination, FH admitted that he was desperate to steal because he needed money to buy chips or online gambling coins.

"The perpetrator's initials FH, 22 years old, has been arrested at his home. The results of the examination, the perpetrator admitted that he dared to steal this diesel because he needed money to buy an online gambling chip," said Tumijang, Antara, Sunday, November 16.

The theft took place at the Ujung Tanah Carester Command Post, Jalan Nusantara Baru, Ujung Tanah District, Makassar on Friday, November 14. The perpetrator is said to have studied the conditions and situations before taking action.

While the perpetrator was pulling diesel from the fire engine tank, the personnel who were on standby caught him. FH immediately fled towards the alley around the location, but his identity was pocketed so that the police could catch him.

The stolen fuel is planned to be sold to a collector with the initials F, who operates around the Pertamina TBBM Depot in the Ujung Tanah area.

From the scene of the incident, officers found two buckets containing about 20 liters of diesel, a hose used to suck, as well as a British key and a pass that was allegedly used to open the tank cover. The evidence was left by the perpetrator while running away.
