CENTRAL LOMBOK - Manpower and Transmigration Service (Disnakertrans) of Central Lombok Regency together with the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) Mataram, NTB thwarted the delivery of prospective illegal Indonesian migrant workers (CMPI) with Malaysia's destination country.

"A total of five CPMIs were sent home, because they departed non-procedureally or illegally," said Head of Central Lombok Manpower and Transmigration Office Suhartono in Central Lombok, Antara, Sunday, November 16.

The illegal CPMI that was repatriated was not only from the Central Lombok Regency, but from other districts in NTB.

"They were prevented when departing through Lombok International Airport. In total there were about a dozen, but from Central Lombok there were five people," he said.

The repatriation of the illegal CPMI is a form of the government's commitment to prevent illegal PMI shipments, because they harm the community and state.

"This is one of the government's efforts to prevent illegal PMI shipments. They departed because they were influenced by their friends or sponsors," he said.

He said that in addition to increasing supervision, the government was still intensely carrying out socialization by involving the village government in preventing illegal CPMI shipments.

"We collaborate with the village government in conducting socialization," he said.

He hopes that people who want to work to become PMI, will go legally or officially, so as to get protection from the state.

"If it departs officially, the government can notify the protection both before and after arriving at the destination country," he said.

He said the destination countries for sending CPMI from Central Lombok were opened, including Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Singapore and several other countries. "The most dominant country remains Malaysia," he said.
