JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung dismissed reports that the Jakarta LRT tariff on the Velodrome 'Manggarai route was IDR 160 thousand per passenger. He emphasized that this figure did not come from the DKI Provincial Government and until now there has been no official decision regarding the amount of the new service tariff.
Currently, the Jakarta LRT has only operated the Velodrome-Kelapa Gading route at a rate of IDR 5,000 per road. The Velodrome-Manggarai route is still under construction in phase 1B.
"So, for the Jakarta LRT which will operate from Velodrome to Manggarai, it has not been decided," said Pramono in Central Jakarta, Sunday, November 16.
The issue of the Rp160 thousand tariff was widely discussed on social media after the Jakarta LRT showed a simulation of the calculation of operating costs. However, Pramono emphasized that internal simulations could not be considered as a government decision before it was officially announced.
Pramono said that all tariffs for public transportation are under the authority of the governor. Therefore, he emphasized that no other party can determine or announce tariffs before there is an official discussion at the provincial government level.
"LRT cannot decide on its own, it is the governor who decides. So until today I have not commented because so I don't want to put the tariff up yet," said Pramono.
The government, he said, would first ensure the readiness of the new cross section of Velodrome' Manggarai before entering the tariff discussion. The process includes trials, intermodal integration, and evaluation of subsidy needs.

Meanwhile, PT LRT Jakarta also straightened out the news regarding the tariff of Rp. 160 thousand for the Velodrome-Manggarai route which recently sparked public concerns. LRT emphasized that this figure is not the tariff that passengers will pay, but the economic tariff or real operational costs without government subsidies.
"As previously reported, the tariff of Rp. 160,000 is a real tariff (not yet subsidized by the Government) for the route operated by the current Jakarta LRT (Service TwoVelodrome), which the subsidy tariff enjoyed by the community is currently Rp. 5,000," said Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of PT LRT Jakarta, Sheila Indira Maharshi.
Sheila explained that the economic rate describes operating costs per passenger without subsidies. The costs cover all operational needs such as energy, maintenance, and human resources.
Sheila added that the real rate will decrease as the 1B phase route to Manggarai operates. The increase in service coverage is considered to increase the number of passengers, so that the operational costs per person will also decrease.
"When it operates phase 1B (up to Manggarai) then with the addition of the number of passengers, of course, this real tariff will decrease, so that the amount of subsidies will decrease," he explained.
