COVID-19 Update As Of May 22: The Most Cases From West Java, Then Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released data on the development of handling COVID-19. Based on the results of the examination of 81.816 specimens as of today, 5.296 new positive confirmation cases were found.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was found in Indonesia reached 1.769.940 people", as quoted from the Ministry of Health data, Saturday, May 22.

Meanwhile, for cured cases increased by 3.353 people. Thus, the total accumulation of cured cases reached 1.629.495 people.

On the other hand, cases of death due to COVID-19 increased by 132 people. With this addition, the total accumulation of cases died to 49.205 people.

Still referring to the data of the Ministry of Health, for the province with the highest number of positive cases, namely, West Java. A record 997 people were confirmed positive for COVID-19.

Then, the second province with the most positive cases of COVID-19 is DKI Jakarta. At least 932 people were declared exposed to COVID-19.

Furthermore, Riau with 639 cases, Central Java with 486 cases, and West Sumatra with 301 positive cases.

Meanwhile, the province with cured cases occupied West Java with 639 people. In second place, Riau with 432 cases. Furthermore, DKI Jakarta with 397 cases, and West Sumatra 301 cases.

So far there are 8 provinces that report the addition of under 10 cases, among them, Gorontalo, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, and West Papua. Then, recorded 3 provinces without positive cases, namely, Papua, Maluku, Southeast Sulawesi.

Furthermore, the number of specimens examined reached 15.986.717. In detail, a total of 14.055.710 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), 178.040 specimens using molecular rapid tests (TCM), and 1.752.967 specimens with antigen examination.

"The number of positive results per day with the number of specimens examined (positivity rate) is 13.42 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspect cases, it is recorded at 77.996 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
