The Bima District Attorney, West Nusa Tenggara found a criminal incident that led to indications of corruption in the procurement of ships originating from a grant from the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation for the 2019 fiscal year.

Head of the Special Crimes Section of the Bima Kejari, Catur Hidayat, explained that the criminal incident was related to indications of unlawful acts (PMH).

"We cannot convey the findings of the PMH. What is clear is that PMH has found it," he said in Mataram, Antara, Friday, November 14.

In addition to PMH, Catur added that his party has also pocketed potential state losses.

The findings of PMH and the potential loss to this country have become the basis for the Bima Kejari Special Criminal Team to increase the status of this handling to the investigation stage.

Catur emphasized that the determination of the handling was based on the issuance of an investigation warrant Number: PRINT-06/N.2.14/Fd.2/07/2025, dated July 2, 2025.

In a series of investigations, prosecutors' investigators were recorded as having examined witnesses. Recently, the prosecutor examined officials from the local government, including the Head of the Asset Division of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) of the Bima Regency Government with the initials IS.

The procurement of wood-type ships for public transportation facilities took place in 2019. The Indonesian Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Sea Transportation distributed grants in the form of ready-screened wooden ships to a number of areas.

Grants were also distributed to the Bima Regency and Bima City Governments. Each of them received a grant of one ship named Banawa Nusantara 77 and Banawa Nusantara 177 with a value of goods reaching Rp4.7 billion.

The grant was officially handed over to each local government in July 2019.

Information emerged that the whereabouts of the two ships were unknown so that they were never enjoyed by the public as a means of public transportation. In fact, the two ships are not currently recorded in the regional assets of the Regency Government or the Bima City Government.
