JAKARTA - The presence of Indonesianists from various countries helps Indonesia become better known and understood around the world, said Indonesian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arrmanatha Nasir on Wednesday.

This was conveyed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs at the 7th World Indonesianists Congress, themed "Reviving Bandung Spirit: Boosting South-South Cooperation Toward a More Prosperous and Stable World Order," held by the Foreign Policy Strategy Agency of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the International Islamic University of Indonesia, Depok, West Java, on November 12-13.

"With this forum, Indonesia will become more widely known. One of the most notable aspects of this forum is the large number of academics. They will certainly share knowledge and information about Indonesia on their campuses, fostering love and knowledge (about Indonesia) through this forum," explained Deputy Minister Tata, as he is familiarly known, on Wednesday, November 12.

According to him, the more people know about Indonesia, the more they will be aware of Indonesia's policies and development strategies.

"The more people from various countries understand Indonesia's situation, understand its foreign policy and development strategy, the more they can support Indonesia's interests abroad," he explained.

Quoting President Prabowo Subianto's statement, Deputy Foreign Minister Tata said Indonesia wants to be friends with all countries and does not want any hostility.

"We currently have 132 representatives worldwide. However, it's still not enough to spread positive information about Indonesia to the world," Deputy Foreign Minister Tata emphasized.

Meanwhile, UIII Rector Jamhari Makruf said the congress was attended by academics and participants from around 15 countries.
