16-year-old Student Missing In Tangerang, Police Investigate Alleged Kidnapping

TANGERANG - Tangerang City Metro Police (Polres), Polda Metro Jaya, is looking for the whereabouts of SMA Strada St Thomas Aquino, Karawaci, Tangerang City, Banten, with the initials MG (16) who disappeared without a trace for a week.

"Yes, we are taking the first step in collecting data. Incidentally, the school's children are still active and collecting parental information," said Tangerang Metro Police Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Kompol Awaludin Tanur, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 12.

He said that the police were currently conducting an investigation to find the whereabouts of the victim who had previously been reported missing since one week ago.

"Because indeed to accelerate the search, we will immediately conduct an investigation in the field. And the team is currently taking to the field," he said.

Sebagai mempercepat proses penyelidikan untuk pencarian siswa SMA ini, maka pihaknya juga telah memeriksa sejumlah saksi baik dari orang tua hingga sekolah.

"We continue to carry out checks until now, so that later we will collect the data," he said.

Responding to the issue of the involvement of an organized crime network or kidnapping in the case of the loss of this student, Awaludin did not want to speculate on the allegation.

However, he emphasized, his staff are currently focusing on investigating the whereabouts of the high school student.

"Not yet. Because if there is usually something that the perpetrator wants from the kidnapping. At this time there is no such information, but we will investigate it later," he said.

Meanwhile, MG's parents, Yohanes Hany said that their child had been reported missing since last Wednesday (5/11) and until now they do not know where he is.

"Since Wednesday, November 5, 2025, our child has not returned, rushed by a man suspected of being the mastermind of an organized crime," he said.

Yohanes suspects that MB's mistake is the involvement of an organized crime network or kidnapping by an unknown man.

"The cellphone number is no longer active, so it cannot be tracked by us," he said.

He admitted that his party has now reported this incident to the local law enforcement officials.

In addition, he hopes that the public can help inform what if they find their child.

"Please help, it's been six days since our child has disappeared. We really appreciate every information and assistance provided to our only daughter," he said.
