Turkish Military Cargo Plane Accident, Erdogan: May God Care For Our Martyrs

JAKARTA - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan mourned the Turkish military cargo plane crashed near the Azerbaijan-Georgia border, Tuesday, November 11.

Erdogan initially said a team of search and rescue officers had been dispatched to the disaster site to speed up disaster management.

"Our efforts to reach the crash site continue, in coordination with national authorities," Erdogan said based on the upload of the Turkish Ministry of Defense's X (Kemenhan) account, Tuesday, November 11.

Erdogan said he was saddened by the incident experienced by the C-130 type of Turkish military cargo plane. He prayed that if there were casualties, the best place would be placed by God.

"May God forgive our martyrs," he said.

Turkey's military cargo plane rotated before finally falling leaving a white trail of smoke near the Azerbaijan-Georgia border.

According to the Turkish Ministry of Defense, the plane took off from the airport in Azerbaijan to Turkey. The number of passengers on the plane is not yet known.
