6 Houses In Bima Damaged By Strong Winds

Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds hit the area of Wawo District, Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), causing six houses in Maria Village and Pesa Village to be damaged. It was also reported that one power pole collapsed on a meatball stall.

"It happened at around 14.00 WITA. Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds damaged several roofs of residents' houses and one power pole fell," said Head of Emergency and Logistics of the Bima Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Nurul Huda, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, November 10.

Strong winds accompanied by heavy rain lasted for about 30 minutes and caused damage at a number of points. Apart from residents' houses, the collapsed power poles caused the electricity in the Wawo sub-district to be completely extinguished.

"The Bima-Sape route, precisely in Maria Village, was also flooded with water and filled with mud due to heavy rains," he said.

Based on the temporary data collection of BPBD Bima Regency, six houses were damaged on the roof. Each house belongs to Jakariah (55), Abdullah (60), Abdurahman (56), Sarno (35), Sukardin (65), and Manan (60). One of the residents' houses was hit by a fallen tree.

In this incident, it was confirmed that Nurul Huda had no casualties.

Joint officers from Koramil 1608-06/Wawo, Bhabinkamtibmas, and PLN Wawo sub-district have cleaned and repaired the power grid.

"The BPBD team has also come down to help affected residents and conduct assessments for further data collection," he said.
