The Khamozaro Judge's House Fire Must Be Completely Investigated

JAKARTA UBK Criminal Law expert, Hudi Yusuf urged law enforcement officers (APH) to investigate the house fire case belonging to the Chairman of the Corruption Court at the Medan District Court (PN), Khamozaro Waruwu.

According to him, the investigation of this case can be carried out by the local police regarding elements of a criminal act that deliberately caused a fire. In addition, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) must also intervene if the incident is related to the obstruction of a road project bribery case in North Sumatra (North Sumatra), which previously dragged the name of the Governor of North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution.

"The Khamozaro judge once ordered the Public Prosecutor to summon Bobby. APH must work professionally to prove whether it is related to the examination concerned needs to be presented at the trial," explained Hudi, Sunday, November 9.

He considered that the Public Prosecutor should have presented Bobby in court to investigate the alleged state losses in the APBD budget shift which became the basis for the project worth more than Rp150 billion.

"If there is a shift, then the KPK needs to examine the person concerned so that this case can run well. The official concerned does not need to worry about the case because it is a place to clarify the case," he said.

As is known, the house belonging to the Medan District Court Judge, Khamozaro Waruwu, which is located in the Taman Harapan Indah Complex, Tanjung Sari Village, Medan Selayang District, Medan City, was burned to the ground on Tuesday, November 4. The incident not only surprised many parties, but also raised suspicions, because Khamozaro was the chairman of the panel of judges in the corruption case that ensnared the former Head of PUPR North Sumatra, Topan Ginting, and the defendant President Director of PT Dalihan Na Tolu, Akhirun Piliang.

Typhoon Ginting is said to have a close relationship with the son-in-law of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, Bobby Nasution, who currently serves as Governor of North Sumatra. When Bobby served as Mayor of Medan, Topan was inaugurated as Head of the Regional Secretariat of Medan City. After that, his career continued to skyrocket, starting from the Head of the Medan City Public Works Office in 2022, the Head of the Water Resources, Highways, and Development Office of Medan City Construction in 2023. Furthermore, on February 24, 2025, Typhoon was inaugurated as Head of the North Sumatra PUPR Service.
