CENTRAL LOMBOK - Central Lombok Police, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), named a member of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) as a suspect in the case of forced assault against five elementary school (SD) students in Jonggat District.

"The perpetrator has been secured for legal proceedings. He is a staff at the school where the victims study," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Lombok Police, Iptu Luk Il Maknun in Central Lombok, Antara, Friday, November 7.

According to him, the modus operandi of the perpetrators in carrying out the depraved act was to give money to the victims. The action was carried out in the morning in the school canteen, when the victims arrived early and the school atmosphere was still quiet.

"These victims arrived at the earliest, because the school conditions were not yet crowded. The perpetrators used this situation to harass them," he said.

The case was uncovered after one of the victim's parents found out that his son was a victim of abuse, then reported it to the police. Central Lombok Police have examined 11 witnesses, including the victims and perpetrators.

"We have arrested the perpetrator. 11 witnesses were examined," said Luk Luk.

He added, based on the results of the investigation, the sexual abuse case occurred in October, with five victims, all of whom were students at the school where the perpetrator worked.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 76 letter e junto Article 82 of Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection, with the threat of imprisonment of up to 15 years.
