Klungkung DPRD Chairman Encourages Football Pick-up To Optimize Hotel And Restaurant Taxes

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Klungkung DPRD, AA Gde Anom, highlighted that there are still a number of hotel and restaurant entrepreneurs who have not paid off their obligations to the Hotel and Restaurant Tax (PHR), especially in the Nusa Penida area. This PDI-P politician emphasized the importance of optimizing PHR levies to increase Klungkung Regency's Regional Original Revenue (PAD).

To achieve the PAD target, Gde Anom encouraged the Regional Financial and Revenue Management Agency (BPKPD) to be more proactive in collecting collection. He assessed that the pick-up strategy needs to be strengthened so that tax levies from the tourism sector can be maximized.

"There are still quite a lot of hotels and restaurants in Nusa Penida that have not paid PHR. Therefore, officers from the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) must actively pick up the ball so that tax levies are maximized," said Gde Anom in a written statement received by VOI, Thursday 6 November.

As a form of support for this step, the Klungkung DPRD increased the budget of Rp. 200 million for BPKAD. These additional funds will be used for operational costs for officers in the field in carrying out direct collection of taxpayers.

"With the officers who go directly to pick up the ball related to PHR, the impact will certainly have a positive impact on increasing the Klungkung PAD," said Gde Anom.

He hopes that this step can strengthen the performance of local governments in exploring tax potential and ensuring that the tourism sector's contribution runs optimally for the development of Klungkung Regency, especially in strategic tourist areas such as Nusa Penida.

For information, the target for Hotel and Restaurant Tax (PHR) of Klungkung Regency in 2025 is set at IDR 100.2 billion, while the realization in 2024 is recorded at around IDR 94.6 billion. Local governments are expected to pursue this difference through a more effective and collaborative collection strategy.
