Asking The KPK To Investigate Debts Of Badminton, Banggar: Recommendations For The Beginning Of The Jakarta-Surabaya High Speed Train, Not Bandung

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives Banggar Said Abdullah, asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to immediately conduct an investigation regarding the polemic of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train debt. Said said that at first the DPR Banggar recommended a high-speed rail project with the Jakarta-Surabaya route instead of Jakarta-Bandung.

Nevertheless, Said considered that the KPK investigation should not stop the ongoing project. And it would be better if the high-speed rail project returned to its original destination.

"KPK will immediately conduct an investigation, an investigation. It will be better. But also don't stop the program which is in very good quotes. Just imagine if we have a high-speed train. Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya. Banyuwangi will be huge. And maybe it's more visible than just stopping in Bandung," said Said at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 4.

"If the initial Banggar was not in Bandung, at the beginning it was Jakarta-Surabaya. Banggar's recommendations remain in 2017," continued the member of the PDIP faction.

Furthermore, Said revealed the initial scheme of the KCIC project, namely Bussines to Bussines, but was later taken over by the government and the scheme became Government to Government. So all risks are taken by dividing Indonesia's shares by 60 percent, and China by 40 percent, including capital and debt risk.

"So the State Budget takes responsibility. But when the State-Owned Enterprises are no longer in the state's general treasurer. It is no longer in the power of the Ministry of Finance. He stands alone Danantara. And from the feeder he enters the Danantara. Really make sense, it's natural. And it is Danantara's obligation to complete all processes that occur at KCIC. Including the availability. Including the debt, "explained Said.

"That then the President took another policy. We will see what the President's policy is like. If it will be borne by the debt to the state budget which must bear the payment of the KCIC debt," he continued.

Said assessed that President Prabowo Subianto's government was not unable to pay off relations. Because according to him, Indonesia's fiscal is still quite good, it's just that trustsh's debt is not a priority.

"This is not a matter of being able, I can't afford it. Because our fiscal is still okay, it's still good. Even though it's good in terms of understanding, it's just a backup. There is also a DBA budget reserve. But it must be used how to run the real sector. So that priority continues to increase," he concluded.
