JAKARTA - The chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, responded to the issue of Riau Governor Abdul Wahid who was caught in a sting operation (OTT) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Puan said the DPR RI respects the legal process that is running at the KPK and urges that similar incidents do not happen again.
"Yes, we respect the legal process, and we hope that things like that don't happen again," said Puan at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 4.
Puan also appealed to all public officials, both ministers and regional heads throughout Indonesia, to be more introspective in making policies.
"So, all executives, regional heads, and anyone else, to be more introspective," said Puan.
It is known that the KPK conducted an OTT against Riau Governor Abdul Wahid and nine other people. Abdul Wahid arrived at the KPK building, Jakarta on Tuesday, November 4.
The KPK has not explained the details of the case that made Abdul Wahid subject to OTT on Monday, November 3, the KPK said that a sum of money was secured in the OTT.
